Chittipara (Meesapulimala of Trivandrum)

I learned about Chittipara unexpectedly from my friend one night. It was only 28 KM from my house. I searched more about the place in google but there was not much info even in google. So me and my friend planned to visit this place which is not even listed in google map on last saturday night to go there at 5am the next day, which was a sunday.

We were not very aware of the way or what to expect but we started our journey at 5 in one bike. The roads were pretty bad and it was a really secluded and forest type of area. We had to ask many pedestrians starting their day and just people just woke up from their sleep and opened their door foe directions because google maps were to no help.

Two wheeler will go almost very close to the mountain. But we had to climb almost 1KM to reach the top on foot.

We can see chittipara aayiravalli temple when we walk a little to the top.We had to go through the forest kind way through the side of the temple to get to the top of the mountain. The view from the top really took us by surprise. It was very surprising to know that such beautiful site existed so close to my house and i never even heard about it until now.

I did some searches and found that we could see clouds moving below us when you go in the morning time but unfortunately, we were in the wrong season so we couldn't see any clouds or snow.

We can see ponmudi (one of the more famous tourist attraction in Trivandrum) on one side , palode, vithura, aryanad and other locations from top of the mountain.

It was very windy that day but it felt so peaceful and quiet. I started clicking some pictures and spend sometime at the very top enjoying the view and the peacefulness in the wind while enjoying the sunrise.

It was a beauty that not very are familiar with. I wished that the beauty will be sustained forever while i stated my journey back and deciding that i will definitely visit the place in a more suitable season.

Some tips:
1) Keep drinking water and snacks if necessary with you before starting the climb. (Please remember to carry back everything/wastes you brought with you)

2) Be more careful and less adventurous as there is no help nearby.

3) Ask people for the correct way as it can be very confusing adn may end up inside some forest area.
