Darbar Movie Review and Rating: An engaging action drama entertainer
Darbar is a movie about a police officer on a chase to hunt down a dreaded gangster for fulfilling his own secret agenda.
Darbar stars Rajnikanth, Sunil Shetty, Nayanthara,Nivetha Thomas and more in the leading roles. It is directed by A. R. Murugadoss.
My Review: Darbar is another mass action entertainer form Muragadoss and Rajni. Rajnikanth showed a mass and solid performance throughout the movie.
The first-half of the movie is very fast paced and engaging. The story moves fast and in a thrilling manner. Rajnikanth's screen presence alone kept the movie more engaging and thrilling. It is filled with continuous action and mass performance from Rajni.
The second half of the movie is not as fast paced and engaging as the first-half of the movie. It falls into more emotional part of the story and has less action scenes. The relation shown between Rajnikanth and Nivedha Thomas is very good.
All the cast members showed a solid performance especially Rajnikanth, Sunil Shetty, nivedha Thomas and Yogi Babu.
Nayanthara's role didn't have any major role in the movie and her screen time is very low.
Some of the issues of Darbar is that as it is a complete entertainer, it lacked a good and variety story expected from A. R. Murugadoss.
It was just an entertainer movie without any soul to the story. The role of Nayanthara is very minimal that her character in no way affects the story or the movie. Also one fight scene in the second-half was so over the top and not logical it invoked laughter in audience rather than excitement.
Overall, it is a 100% entertainer commercial movie which youngsters and Rajni fans can have a good time in theater. Story wise the movie is pretty average and has the same formula of top action stars in the industry.
