Mohanlal's Big Brother movie review: A thriller that tests our patience..
About the movie: Sachidanandan had to go to the juvenile home for committing an unintentional murder. After his release, the recent things that happened to his family, shock Sachidanandan and he has to fight against a powerful drug racket in the city.
Big Brother Review: Big Brother is a movie where it shows the love and affection of an elder brother for his younger brothers and his family. The movie starts off decent with progressing the story pretty fast. But logic the movie lacks logic from the very beginning of the movie. Sachidandan played by Mohanlal is portrayed as a superhero in the movie. There are many plot holes and a lack of logic on the plot itself. For instance, the caring and loving family of Mohanlal don't know what he looks like, like they never visited him i jail or nothing. A girl that has been kidnapped who calls Mohanlal Bro in one scene next moment starts a duet romantic song with him and never addresses it again, just to name a few.
The first half of the movie managed to work some scenes like some flashback scenes and some of the comedy bits in the beginning work out a little, but it soon went downhill.
The second half of the movie even managed to became devoid of logic and senses. The movie felt very dragged out and boring. The climax scene was good to watch even though it ignored all laws of physics and logic.
Plus points: The flash back on the beginning of the movie told in the form of a song worked out. Some of the humorous bits also worked for a while. Some of the cast did a good job with their performance like Sarjano Khalid, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Tini Tom. Other than that it was a pretty average in terms of acting. Cinematography and camera work was pretty good.
Minus points: The story is poorly written. There is a huge lack of logic in the story. While the fight scenes were good to watch, due to good cinematography and camera work, it was not at all logical and avoided all laws of physics. All characters were pretty mediocre and not relatable or likable at all. Added unnecessary love interest song in the middle of the movie out of nowhere and it was never addressed in the movie again.
Overall, die-hard Mohanlal fans might have a good time in theaters with a large crowd. Other than that, it is a very poorly written story and very lagging and disappointing.
My Rating: 2.5/5
